In accordance with the Global Controller Administration Policy (GCAP), the Virtual New York ARTCC has updated the Training Flow. The Training Flow changes include the removal of sign-off procedures and an increase in the ATC rating consolidation period. The new flows can be found in the Training Procedure.
The previous requirement of 20 hours per endorsement has been revised to a new standard of 50 hours per ATC Rating. To study for a higher ATC Rating (S1, S2, S3), students must have accumulated 50 hours on the network, demonstrating proficiency in the corresponding skill set associated with their current ATC Rating. Any requests to enroll in the VATUSA academy can be submitted in the #training channel.
It is the responsibility of the student, prior to progressing, to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the material covered at their current level. This ensures a smooth transition to the next stage of training.
Any questions regarding one’s progression can be addressed by opening a ticket or emailing the TA ([email protected]).
