New vATIS 4.1 Profiles

The ZNY FE Team is excited to announce the availability of ZNY's vATIS 4.1 compatible files.

These files also come with a refresh of the available airports (no more missing airports!) and a re-organization. Compatibility with the vATIS v4.0 series of releases is not guaranteed, so you will need to update to v4.1 available at https://vatis.app/. We ask that everyone update to this at their earliest convenience as it enables features for all controllers.

To install these new profiles, install the v4.1 version of vATIS (if you haven’t already), then download and unzip the zip file available from the downloads from our website (https://www.nyartcc.org/downloads). Open the new version of vATIS and import the profiles, then re-launch vATIS and you’re good to go! If you have any questions, feel free to post them in #ask-staff on Discord!

There are now 4 files available inside the ZIP:

N90:
This contains all airports in the JFK, LGA, ISP, and SWF areas, as well as EWR and it’s satellites.

PHL:
This contains all 4 airports covered by Philly Approach. Please note, this file contains both the PHL arrival and departure ATISes, as well as a "combined" PHL ATIS. The combined ATIS is designed to be used by controllers covering the PHL TRACON top-down.

If you are working the PHL TRACON top-down you may use the combined ATIS profile instead of the separate ones. Please note that you may not use this if you are only controlling the PHL airport or if there is any other controller available that would be able to put up individual ATISes.

For example, if you are working PHL Approach and a cab position comes online, you are expected to drop the combined ATIS for PHL and have the cab controller put up individual arrival and departure ATISes.

Minors:
The minors profile contains everything not in the N90 or PHL TRACONs.

ZNY Combined:
This profile contains every airport in ZNY and is mainly designed for people working ZNY top-down to be able to put up any ATIS. There are no additional airports or differences in this file.
